Warehouse Team Leader - Raw Materials

Location: Burton upon Trent
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off (12-hour shifts, rotating 2 days / 2 nights)

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and motivated Warehouse Team Leader to join our Raw Materials operation. Reporting to the Raw Materials Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient day-to-day running of warehouse operations, inbound logistics, stock control and order fulfilment activities.

Key Responsibilities

As Warehouse Team Leader, you will:

• Lead the receipt, storage, picking and dispatch of materials, ensuring all activities are completed accurately and on time.
• Support the Raw Materials Manager and take responsibility for departmental operations during their absence.
• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of Warehouse Operatives.
• Ensure inventory accuracy through effective stock management and record keeping.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy and attention to detail across all warehouse activities.
• Champion health and safety by ensuring adherence to Safe Systems of Work and company procedures.
• Conduct equipment checks and ensure all warehouse equipment is operated safely and correctly.
• Report defects, hazards and near-miss incidents immediately and take a proactive approach to risk reduction.
• Provide administrative support to the department when required.
• Communicate company objectives and operational priorities clearly to team members.
• Support the development of colleagues by identifying training and development needs.
• Build strong relationships with both internal and external customers, ensuring exceptional service levels at all times.
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes and operational performance.

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
• Experience supervising or leading a team.
• Strong understanding of stock control and inventory management.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
• Commitment to health and safety standards.
• Competent IT and administrative skills.

Desirable

• MHE (Material Handling Equipment) licences such as Counterbalance or Reach Truck.
• Experience within a manufacturing or raw materials environment.
• Knowledge of warehouse management systems.
