Development Control Engineer

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Barnet to assist with the appointment of a Development Control Engineer, on a 12-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £24.41 - £32.20 per hour

Summary:

An experienced Development Control Engineer is required to support highways development control activities, including assessing planning applications, managing highway agreements and ensuring new highway infrastructure is delivered to the required standards.

Responsibilities:

• Assess highway and transport impacts of planning applications
• Manage Section 38, Section 278 and Section 184 applications and agreements
• Review and approve highway designs and technical submissions
• Negotiate with developers, consultants and legal representatives
• Conduct site inspections and monitor highway works
• Support highway adoption and asset management

Qualifications:

• ONC/HNC in Civil Engineering, Highway Engineering, Transportation Engineering or related discipline

Essential Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years' post-graduate experience
• Significant experience with Section 38 and Section 278 schemes
• Strong knowledge of highways legislation, policies and standards
• Experience supervising contractors and monitoring highway works
• Experience in highways development management or civil engineering
• Full UK driving licence or ability to travel throughout the borough
