- Reports to: VP, Marketing & Communications
- Location: London or Manchester office - 10-20% onsite/hybrid

The role
Spektrix has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Designer to join our Marketing team!
As the Senior Designer, you'll be Spektrix’s primary design practitioner and the day-to-day owner of the company’s visual creative expression. You'll be responsible for bringing the Spektrix brand to life across campaigns, digital experiences, events, social media, sales materials, product communications, and other client- and market-facing work.
You'll own the application and ongoing development of Spektrix’s visual design system, ensuring the brand is consistently recognizable while continuing to evolve how it is expressed. You'll work directly with colleagues across Marketing to turn ideas, briefs, messages, and business objectives into thoughtful, distinctive creative work.
This is not a production design or internal creative-services role. This position combines hands-on design and strategic creative leadership. You'll challenge briefs, drive visual strategy, and take complete ownership from initial idea through final execution.
- Design System & Brand Evolution: You'll own and evolve the Spektrix visual identity and design system while creating reusable templates and components that elevate brand standards, accessibility, and visual quality across channels and regions without becoming formulaic.
- Campaign & Strategic Concepting: You'll translate marketing briefs, narratives, and business goals into cohesive visual systems for integrated campaigns, website experiences (partnering with the Website Manager), and social channels.
- Multichannel Execution: You'll design dynamic assets across digital and physical touchpoints including campaign landing pages, digital ads, social media, event branding/signage, product visual communications, and sales enablement decks.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: You'll partner with Content & Campaigns colleagues on visual storytelling, collaborate with Multimedia leads to blend static and motion formats, and work with stakeholders to challenge briefs and recommend high-impact creative approaches.
- Project Intake & Workflow Management: You'll help evaluate incoming creative requests, manage timelines and dependencies across concurrent projects, and deliver production-ready assets across all required formats.
- Quality Control & File Organization: You'll review creative work to maximize visual hierarchy, clarity, and usability while maintaining organized asset libraries, templates, and source files for easy team access and reuse.
- Demonstrated professional experience in graphic design, visual design, brand design, or a related creative role.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality design across multiple formats, ideally including brand, campaigns, digital, social, presentations, and other marketing applications.
- Strong understanding of visual identity systems and the ability to apply and develop an established brand consistently while finding opportunities for creative expression.
- Strong skills in typography, layout, composition, hierarchy, and visual storytelling.
- Experience developing creative concepts, not simply producing assets from predetermined concepts or templates.
- Experience designing for digital environments, with an understanding of how design requirements differ across web, email, social, advertising, presentations, and other channels.
- Ability to understand the objective and audience behind a brief and translate those requirements into an effective creative solution.
- Strong creative judgment, including the ability to explain design decisions, receive and interpret feedback, challenge assumptions, and recommend alternative approaches when appropriate.
- Understanding of accessibility and inclusive design principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, polished work.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple creative projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with writers, marketers, web specialists, video and multimedia creators, product marketers, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to take ownership of work from initial brief through final delivery, proactively identifying missing information, dependencies, decisions, and next steps.
- Curiosity and an active interest in design, culture, technology, and the creative work happening outside Spektrix.
- NHS top up scheme covering dental, optical, therapy & counselling, prescription and other health related costs
- Enhanced Maternity, Adoption & Shared Parental Leave
- 35 days flexible paid leave annually, inclusive of annual leave, bank holidays and a Birthday day off
- Month-long Paid Sabbatical after 5 years of service
- Two paid volunteering days per year
- Pension scheme with matched contributions up to 4%
- Professional development opportunities
- Flexible working with support for WFH setup / equipment
- Free snacks, drinks and breakfast items in all our offices
- Varied range of regular socials across all our offices
- Cycle to work & Season Ticket Loans
- Travel stipend for commuting
