Job description

Crew Planning and Readiness sits within the Integrated Operations and Planning Mission and is accountable for the systems and processes that put the right crew, in the right place, at the right time. The product group covers crew establishment planning, Training, HOTAC and Leave, Pairing and Rostering into the day of operations with crewing.

The immediate focus of this role is crew pairing and rostering\: the optimisation of pairings and the build, publication and in-month management of crew rosters. This is operationally critical, safety-adjacent work — rosters must respect FTL and regulatory constraints, contractual and industrial agreements, training and currency requirements, and crew experience, while delivering productivity and cost efficiency. Delivery in this space involves close working with Crew Planning, Crew Control, Flight Operations, Crew Training and Safety, alongside the vendor partners supporting the pairing and rostering platforms.

JOB PURPOSE

Your work directly enables your product group's outcome

  • Improve and mature delivery predictability within the assigned product group, building strong relationships with the Product Managers, Tech Specialists and Software Engineers in your group.

  • Operate, adapt and continuously improve the Mission's system of delivery within your product group, enabling teams to optimise idea-to-value flow. This is a hands-on delivery role, not an agile coaching role.

  • Raise the delivery maturity of the product teams in your group against a clear baseline, with a plan and visible progress against it.

  • Surface and remove impediments within your group, and escalate systemic blockers to the Delivery Lead where they need Mission-level intervention.

  • Build and hold a single, credible delivery plan for your product group, spanning internal teams, vendor delivery and cross-team dependencies.

  • Represent your product group's delivery status, risks and dependencies accurately and consistently to the Delivery Lead and wider Mission.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Own and maintain the delivery plan for your product group, integrating internal, vendor and third-party workstreams into a single, credible view.

  • Track and report delivery maturity against the Mission baseline, with a clear improvement plan and visible progress.

  • Bring release discipline to your group\: sequencing, test and parallel-run cadence, migration planning and go-live readiness, tailored to the risk profile of your product group.

  • Manage day-to-day vendor delivery relationships where relevant, holding third parties to the same plan and standards as internal teams.

  • Capture, validate and resolve delivery impediments within your group; escalate systemic or cross-group blockers to the Delivery Lead with clear context and recommended action.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for delivery status, risks and dependencies for your product group, including feeding into Quarterly Business Reviews and Monthly Product Syncs.

  • Protect live operational windows and safety-adjacent constraints when planning releases, where applicable to your product group.

  • Maintain compliance with organisational delivery standards and tooling conventions set at Mission level.

  • Contribute delivery data and insight to the Mission's flow metrics and reporting mechanisms.

  • Build trusted, day-to-day relationships with Product Managers, Tech Specialists, Software Engineers and, where relevant, operational and regulatory stakeholders (e.g. Safety, Flight Operations or Crew Training teams).
