Technical Program Manager, Energy Contracts and Asset Management
Job description
A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.
- Lead end-to-end programs for EMEA energy contracts, utility tariffs, and Carbon-Free Energy deals while resolving cross-functional roadblocks.
- Track Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) delivery, enforce contractual compliance, and resolve complex disputes, regulatory changes, or majeure events.
- Direct energy budget renewals, spend tracking, and financial variance analysis across regional operations.
- Deploy AI/ML and Large Language Model (LLM) tools to automate contract intake and portfolio workflows at scale.
- Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and automated executive reporting, while leading structured change management for database and tool migrations.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or technical field (e.g., Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science) or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in technical program management, energy contract management, or energy portfolio operations within the EMEA energy sector, wholesale electricity markets, utility tariffs, or Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).
- Experience writing SQL queries, developing relational data models, building dashboards, and analyzing datasets into business insights.
- Experience managing cross-functional projects and delivering technical or operational roadmaps.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in a quantitative, engineering, business, or energy-related discipline.
- Experience performing technical due diligence and collaborating with software/data engineering teams to evaluate technical scope, tooling architecture, and infrastructure system requirements.
- Demonstrated expertise in structured change management, continuous improvement methodologies, and managing complex stakeholder dynamics under ambiguity.
- Advanced proficiency in deploying artificial intelligence, Large Language Models (LLMs), or scripting (e.g., SQL and Python) to automate repetitive workflows, build internal tooling, and drive operational velocity.
- Deep understanding of EMEA electricity market dynamics, generator performance monitoring, utility operations, grid interconnection, and corporate PPA structures across multiple European jurisdictions.
