Ship Delivery Manager

Maritime Naval Ships are pleased to announce this progression opportunity for a Ship Delivery Manager. This role sits within the Manufacturing Function at Govan.

As Ship Delivery Manager you will lead, manage and continuously improve the delivery of complex warship programmes in a project environment, ensuring effective integration and collaboration of all other ship delivery activities to achieve contract requirements. Deliver constructability solutions in the areas of Safety Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People. You will also promote a quality and safety culture that ensures compliance with all Company and Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and agreed quality standards.

Your main responsibilities as Ship Delivery Manager\:

· Ensure compliance with the SHE Management System, mitigating risks and improving overall SHE performance.

· Accept responsibility for and demonstrate a visible commitment to Quality. Lead by example and set high personal standards. Make time for Quality as an integral part of the role and engage in effective communications to maintain the highest standards of quality.

· Accountable for delivery of all planned work packages within your area of control.

· Financial and project performance data.

· CAM accountability driving cost improvement objectives and delivering to approved area budgets.

· Accurate and timely updates and reporting to Monthly CAM Review Cycle.

· To lead by example by demonstrating collaboration across multiple, functions and programmes to drive business continuous improvement and contribute to the ship build learning curves.

· Create a spirit of mutual trust and common goals with your team, function and programmes based around your style of engagement and delivery.

· Implement and maintain a robust level of succession planning across the team on a quarterly basis.

· Responsible for the career development of all your team members, including apprentices, graduates, trade operators and line managers.

· Accountable for the teams knowledge and compliance with all current or new work methods, deploying a coaching style to continually improve our performance standards.

· Type 26 Build Strategy, using build method allowing for the Design for Build Safety Policy.

· Ensuring implementation of change for Operations at the optimum time in the build.

· Liaison with export strategies.

Your skills and qualifications\:

· Thorough knowledge of integrated shipbuilding business processes in complex warship delivery environment.

· Knowledge and experience in leading multi-functional project teams

· Detailed knowledge of safety controls and procedures in a high risk operational environment

· Knowledge in how to challenge traditional practices and implement improved alternative solutions to construction and testing employed in Naval Ships

· Degree or equivalent in related subject preferable.

· Recognised Project Management training (APMQ Certified), LCM Assessor / Chairperson trained preferable
