Research Program Manager Model Development

You will embed with pre-training ML and data teams to coordinate research initiatives. You will manage experiment planning, scheduling, data readiness, technical handoffs, and research milestones while helping leadership make informed decisions on model-development tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Embed with pre-training ML and Data teams
• Drive cross-team research initiatives across data, model architecture, training, and evaluation
• Coordinate experiment prioritization, run scheduling, data readiness, and checkpoint handoffs
• Present actionable recommendations on technical tradeoffs to research leadership
• Build lightweight processes for handoffs, configuration management, and research milestones
• Connect pre-training, mid-training, post-training, and infrastructure teams

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in technical program management, research operations, or ML engineering
• Experience building programs in research or ML-heavy environments
• Knowledge of model architecture, scaling laws, data processing pipelines, training dynamics, and optimizer behavior
• Technical stakeholder management
• Ability to operate in ambiguous and shifting environments
• Experience with decisions affecting model quality, compute spend, and training timelines
