New Business Development Manager
Milton Keynes (Hybrid) | Comms365
Comms365 is a UK-based provider of resilient, always-on business connectivity — 4G/5G, fixed-line, bonded Internet, SD-WAN, and network security — for organisations that simply can't afford downtime. Founded in 2008, we own and manage our own Cisco-based core network, and count Moonpig, BT, and The Entertainer among our customers.
The Role:
The New Business Development Manager will play a key role in the growth of Comms365. The primary objective will be to identify and engage with prospective new logo direct customers in our target markets and on-board these successfully as new customers.
The role will involve developing a sustainable pipeline of new business sales opportunities for our core services of cellular and satellite connectivity solutions, by various means including: following up campaign activity, pursuing leads generated by an internal SDR team, identifying and engaging with target accounts who meet our ideal customer profile, attending industry and networking events.
Ultimately the role is responsible for achieving a sales target that will allow the business to meet its financial year budget and growth plans year on year.
The role will involve hybrid working from the Comms365 Milton Keynes office, meeting with prospects and customers at their office locations, attending industry events, as well as some home/remote working.
What You'll Do:
- Build Direct Customer Base: Identify and engage with target clients who meet our ICP to create and qualify new opportunity, complete win plans, and close new business.
- Account Development: Once a new customer is on-boarded in some instances where additional opportunities for growth are identified, it may be appropriate for some customers to be retained. In such cases account plans will be completed in full and a clear strategy for developing strong relationships to win more business
- Data Capture: Ensure all systems are kept updated (ConnectWise, Hubspot etc) in real time with pipeline, account and campaign information.
- Financial Goals: Work towards achieving a set of KPI’s that will support the delivery of the sales target issued.
- Collaboration with Sales and Marketing: Work closely with colleagues in Sales, Marketing, Product, Technical Ops, to ensure client acquisition efforts are aligned.
- Product and industry knowledge: Maintain in-depth product knowledge of Comms365 service offerings and value propositions, ensuring you can articulate these to target prospects and can align with industry trends and developments.
- Market Intelligence: Stay up-to-date with market trends, competitor activities, and technological advancements to identify emerging opportunities and potential threats.
- Brand Advocacy: Act as a brand ambassador for Comms365 internally, externally and on-line, ensuring that all behaviour and communication is consistent with the company’s values, messaging and of the highest professional order.
- Policy Compliance: Remain compliant with Company policies and procedures including IS0 documentation
- Security Risks: Proactively identify and mitigate information security risks associated with assigned duties and responsibilities.
- Security Training: Participate in regular security awareness training and apply best practices for securing data, systems, and applications.
- Report Security Issues: Report any suspected security incidents, vulnerabilities, or policy violations to the information security team immediately
What You'll Bring:
- 3+ years' continuous experience in a new business role within telecoms
- Formal sales training (e.g. account planning, qualification, presentation skills)
- Familiarity with structured sales qualification methodologies
- Strong grasp of the telecoms and IoT landscape — market dynamics, key players, emerging tech
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- A proven track record of hitting new business targets in telecoms
- Confidence with CRM software (ideally ConnectWise) and Microsoft Office
- An active, well-used LinkedIn presence for pipeline generation
- A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with strong strategic and problem-solving instincts
