Network and Security Engineer

This is a 6 month FTC

As a Network and Security engineer a successful candidate will play an active role in maintaining, supporting and monitoring the existing network infrastructure. The role requires the candidate to actively participate in and support site network connectivity, core network infrastructure, wireless infrastructure, and associated projects. In additional to the network, a
successful candidate is required to support the SASE infrastructure and play a key part in securing the network.

Ampa have invested in a new solution for network and security utilising the capabilities of SASE. A successful candidate will deliver the capabilities of this solution by providing connectivity to over 20+ offices, data centres and Azure and working with our SASE partner design and implement.

A successful candidate will support management and the wider team in improving and enhancing key systems and processes. As a Network and Security engineer you will be multi-skilled and be a subject-matter expert leading by example and providing mentorship of best practice to the wider CIO function ensuring that systems and services are available, visible and secure. The role involves ensuring all data centre and office hubs remains performant and available across the country.

The role requires a broad set of network and network security skills when should be underpinned by a high degree of flexibility and adaptability and a keen mind for determined problem solving. Elements of the role will also present opportunities to represent the CIO function across business areas as interface with functional leaders and other consumers of the IT service around the firm. Key to your success will be your ability to communicate with others at all levels, work multiple issues alongside planning and delivering of several work streams, ensuring that you deliver against commitments while maintaining an engaging, confident can-do attitude. In achieving success, you will have access to and experience a wide range of IT products and services from traditional on-prem, through hyper-converged to Cloud.
