Maintenance Capability & Infrastructure Programme Manager

Our Air Sector is currently going through a period of substantial growth due to an upsurge in demand for our products from domestic and overseas customers. The Türkiye Typhoon programme represents a new international defence partnership, delivering advanced combat air capability to Türkiye while strengthening strategic ties and enhancing regional security. As part of the Türkiye Typhoon programme, we have a position for a Maintenance Capability & Infrastructure Programme Manager, based at Warton, which play an important role in delivering Typhoon capability for a key strategic customer. As Maintenance Capability & Infrastructure Programme Manager you will be responsible for mobilising and delivering the non‑recurring support work scope defined within the contract between BAE Systems and UKG, on behalf of the Turkish Ministry of National Defence (TMoND).

The role provides programme leadership across Maintenance Capability and Infrastructure activities, ensuring contractual obligations are delivered to time, cost and quality. You will operate as a key interface into the Air Operations business, coordinating multi‑functional stakeholders, suppliers and customers to ensure effective delivery and compliance.

Your leadership will play a critical role in ensuring our customer is fully equipped, trained, and supported to operate the Typhoon aircraft from day one.

Your main responsibilities as Maintenance Capability & Infrastructure Programme Manager\:

· Mobilise and deliver the non‑recurring support scope across Maintenance Capability & Infrastructure in line with contractual commitments.

· Act as the primary focal point for support contract delivery within the assigned functional scope, ensuring alignment with Air Operations and broader Türkiye programme objectives.

· Establish a Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB) for assigned scope, against which the support contract can be managed.

· Develop, maintain and execute integrated delivery plans, milestones and dependencies to achieve support contract and Türkiye programme outcomes.

· Manage risks, issues and opportunities, implementing mitigation strategies and escalation where required.

· Ensure compliance with the BAE Systems Operational framework and Air Sector business process & polices applicable to the Türkiye programme; including export controls, information management, security and Project Management governance.

· Coordinate internal teams and external partners to ensure Maintenance Capability & Infrastructure deliverables are produced to agreed standards.

· Provide accurate, timely reporting of programme performance, including schedule, cost, risk and quality metrics.

· Drive customer awareness into the wider organisation including sponsoring the contractual deliverables and promoting an “earlier than contracted” delivery mindset.

· Lead and coordinate multi‑disciplinary teams across Maintenance Capability & Infrastructure domains, often without direct line management authority.

· Provide clear direction, priorities and decision‑making within the support contract scope, fostering collaboration across Air Operations and enabling functions.

· Influence senior stakeholders, customers and suppliers to resolve complex issues and maintain programme momentum.

· Coach and develop team members to promote high performance, compliance and a culture of accountability.

Your skills and qualifications\:

· Proven experience in programme or project management within a complex, regulated environment (defence, aerospace or comparable sectors).

· Strong understanding of Aircraft Maintenance Capability & Infrastructure solutions.

· Experience of working to contractual frameworks and implementing arrangements with government or international customers.

· Knowledge of export control, security and information assurance requirements.

· Degree or equivalent experience in engineering, business, programme management or a related discipline.

· Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across organisational boundaries.

· Excellent planning, integration and delivery management capability.

· Commercial awareness with experience managing cost, schedule and risk.

· Clear and effective communication, including formal reporting to senior stakeholders.

· Project or Programme Management qualification (e.g. APM, Prince2, MSP or equivalent) desirable.
