Main Grade Lecturer - IT Lecturer

The successful candidate will contribute actively to the continuous improvement of achievement outcomes within the Computing department and to the enhancement of the overall student experience. The post holder will deliver high‑quality teaching, coaching, assessment planning, and robust monitoring of learner progress to support successful programme outcomes.

They will work collaboratively and proactively with the curriculum team and Internal and External Verification colleagues to support the effective delivery of the digital curriculum, including Level 3 ICT, T Levels, and Apprenticeships. The role requires full engagement with the College’s Mission and Values, ensuring these are embedded consistently within all working practices.

· To deliver / demonstrate Computing and Digital subjects to a high standard in line with the college’s mission in providing outstanding education.

· To be responsible for teaching and learning of students, both individually and as members of designated groups within the curriculum area

· To act as Personal Tutor and/or Course Manager to full-time/part-time students which will involve monitoring attendance, liaising with parents/guardians and other agencies

· To prepare effective Scheme of work, Assessment and lesson plan which are flexible to the students’ needs and embed English, Math, functional skills, considering learning styles and individual’s needs.

· To keep records, monitor and track students’ progress and to keep management Information and statistical data to fulfil the requirements of the College’s QA and Information systems and for audit purposes.

· To carry out such duties and responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act and associated legislation as described in the College’s Health and Safety policy documents.

· To be involved with student recruitment and events outside of normal college hours, e.g. parent’s evening

· To evaluate the quality of provision within the programme area and ensure full compliance with all quality mechanisms

· To support the College in the development of appropriate and safe work placement opportunities for the learners.

· Participate actively and flexibly in a range of college-wide activities, enrolment and marketing events and staff and student activities.

· Participate in training and team development activities, to develop skills and knowledge.

· Demonstrate commitment and enthusiasm to promote the principle of equality and diversity in employment and service delivery.

· Be familiar with Child Protection requirements as outlined in the Child Protection Policy and comply with its requirements to safeguard and protect the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.

· Undertake such additional duties or projects as the Principal or line manager may determine from time to time, after consultation with the post holder
