HGV Night Trunk Driver

Our Trunking drivers are responsible for the safe, timely and professional transit of orders and stock between our delivery depots. As a key operational role within the Transport team, the driver ensures that goods are delivered in accordance with company standards and customer expectations, while maintaining compliance with road safety regulations and internal procedures.

This role requires a high level of personal responsibility and reliability, as trunking feeds distribution centres that then deliver onwards to multiple customers. Drivers are expected to build strong relationships between sites and collection points, becoming a trusted and consistent point of contact.

Shifts: Nightshift various start times (Midnight - 3:30am)

Salary: OTE £43,452 per annum (Base salary of £39,775 and guaranteed overtime on your additional days off)

Time Off: 30 days holiday + 22 additional days off (or trade them in for extra pay!)

What You'll Be Doing:

• Complete mandatory vehicle checks and report any defects to the Transport management team
• Keep up to date with and abide by UK Tacho laws
• Delivering time sensitive freight with safety and professionalism
• Maintain a clean and fuelled vehicle, ready for the following day’s operation
• Collect and deliver orders to delivery depots assist and communicate with site teams
• Collect orders from customers and suppliers as required by the Purchasing team
• Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies
• Return Appropriate documentation to depots for collections and deliveries
• Represent Albion positively and consistently as the trusted face of the business
• Driving your vehicle in accordance with Traffic Legislation and Highway code

Requirements:

• Valid, full UK manual driving licence (essential)
• Valid CPC and TACHO cards (essential)
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong time management and attention to detail.
• Reliability and punctuality essential
• Experience in operating Class 2 vehicles
• Class 1 licence highly desirable

Important License Requirements:

Due to insurance restrictions the job holder must hold a valid, full UK driving licence with no serious endorsements and no more than 6 penalty points within the last 5 years. We are unable to accept any of the following offence codes on their licence within the last five years:

• DR – Drink or drug driving
• IN – Insurance offences
• TT99 – Totting up points
• CD – Careless driving
• DD – Dangerous driving
• UT – Theft or unauthorised vehicle use
• MR – Miscellaneous driving offences
• BA – Driving while disqualified
• DG – Dangerous goods
• LC30–LC50 – Licence offences
• MS50–MS90 – Miscellaneous serious offences
