General Counsel

You will own the legal function and provide practical advice on legal, operational, governance, and reputational risks. You will design safeguards and policies, manage trade-control and lobbying obligations, support entity governance, review legal matters, and manage outside counsel across jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

• Advise leadership on legal, operational, governance, and reputational decisions
• Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks
• Track regulatory developments in the United States, United Kingdom, and China
• Manage trade-control obligations, policies, screening, and education
• Manage FARA and lobbying exposure
• Design and run researcher-vetting and background-check safeguards
• Review projects, employment matters, contracts, grants, policies, and governance questions
• Manage outside counsel across jurisdictions
• Maintain 501(c)(3) status and reporting obligations
• Support statutory and regulatory filings, audits, tax, and transfer-pricing matters
• Establish new entities when required
