Reporting to the Digital Engineering Manager, you will own the design of data architecture and integration solutions across the Adobe Experience Platform ecosystem. You will turn business and technical requirements into secure, scalable and adaptable solutions, while providing technical leadership across internal teams, Adobe specialists, delivery partners and other platform owners.
- Design data architecture and integration solutions for Adobe Experience Platform and its connected services, aligned with the current architecture and the wider Premier League technology roadmap.
- Translate business needs and high-level technical requirements into clear solution designs, architecture diagrams, data flows, implementation roadmaps and engineering priorities.
- Design extensible integration frameworks, selecting appropriate patterns such as HTTP APIs, SDK-based ingestion, publish–subscribe messaging, event-driven services, and streaming or batch processing.
- Define how customer data is ingested, transformed, stored, governed, activated and consumed to support marketing journeys, digital experiences and analytics reporting.
- Own the technical design of third-party integrations, ensuring data flows are secure, resilient, supportable and capable of evolving as future requirements change.
- Lead technical discussions with platform owners, Adobe teams, vendors and delivery partners, establishing clear outcomes, responsibilities, dependencies and implementation decisions.
- Provide technical direction to software, data and platform engineers, reviewing designs and supporting implementation, testing and resolution of complex technical issues.
- Maintain oversight of platform health, governance and monitoring, including data quality, identity, reconciliation, validation, error handling, recovery and operational stability.
- Assess architecture decisions and trade-offs relating to security, privacy, performance, scalability, maintainability, platform constraints and cost optimisation.
- Contribute to business-as-usual delivery, platform stabilisation and capability development, balancing immediate operational priorities with longer-term architectural goals.
- Represent the Premier League in technical conversations and take accountability for ensuring agreed architecture and integration decisions are progressed through delivery.
- Work flexibly across the broader digital engineering and enterprise architecture agenda, building knowledge beyond the immediate Adobe assignment as organisational needs develop.
- Significant experience as a Data Architect, Solution Architect or Enterprise Architect, with strong exposure to customer-data platforms, data architecture or comparable data-platform environments.
- Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise integration solutions using a range of industry-standard patterns, rather than relying on a single integration method.
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe Experience Platform and its integration landscape. Experience with Real-Time CDP, Adobe Journey Optimizer and Customer Journey Analytics is highly relevant.
- Ability to define architecture frameworks, dependencies and design approaches that deliver practical solutions now while remaining extensible for future requirements.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end data flows, including ingestion, transformation, storage, identity, governance, activation and consumption.
- Experience translating functional and non-functional requirements into clear technical designs, roadmaps, interface specifications and implementation plans.
- Practical understanding of secure data movement, access controls, consent, privacy, retention and governance requirements.
- Ability to assess and resolve complex data, integration and platform issues, identify root causes and recommend proportionate solutions.
- Confidence leading technical discussions with internal stakeholders, vendors, partners and specialist engineering teams, including constructively challenging proposals where necessary.
- Ability to provide solution-level technical judgement while remaining willing to work at implementation level when the situation requires it.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts and decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A proactive learning mindset, with the flexibility to explore new technologies, broaden into enterprise architecture responsibilities and adapt as the role develops.
