Job description

Kennedys is looking for an experienced Claims Manager to join our expanding Claims Handling team. This is an excellent opportunity to take a senior role within a specialist team handling a varied and technically interesting portfolio of insurance claims.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical claims expertise with leadership and client relationship skills, providing oversight on complex matters while supporting the development and performance of the wider team.

The team handles claims across a broad range of insurance lines, including Professional Indemnity, Financial Lines and Warranty & Indemnity, providing plenty of scope for an experienced claims professional to broaden their exposure and play an important role in the continued development of our claims offering.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and provide technical oversight across a portfolio of complex insurance claims.
  • Lead, support and develop claims handlers, providing guidance on technical and operational matters.
  • Review claims strategy, coverage, liability, quantum and reserves, ensuring appropriate action is taken throughout the lifecycle of a claim.
  • Provide oversight and quality assurance across the team, helping to maintain consistently high standards of claims handling.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and act as a senior point of contact on claims and service delivery.
  • Identify emerging issues and trends within the portfolio and ensure these are appropriately escalated.
  • Support the allocation and management of workloads across the team.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across Kennedys' wider Claims Handling function.
  • Contribute to the continued development of processes, technical capability and best practice across the team.

About you

We are looking for someone with:

  • Significant experience handling complex insurance claims.
  • Strong technical knowledge within one or more relevant insurance classes, ideally including Professional Indemnity, Financial Lines or other specialty lines.
  • Previous experience supervising, mentoring or managing claims professionals.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong commercial judgement and the ability to make confident decisions on technically challenging matters.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to operate effectively within a busy, growing claims environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced claims professional looking to step into a highly visible management position and help shape the development of a growing specialist team.
