Accountant

TPF Recruitment is supporting a well established and highly regarded independent accountancy practice with the recruitment of an Accountant to join their team.

This is a varied general practice role, with accounts being the main focus, alongside a smaller element of tax and wider practice duties. It would suit an experienced Accounts Assistant or Semi Senior looking to take the next step, or an Accountant who is already working at a more autonomous level.

The Role

You will work with a varied portfolio of owner managed businesses and individuals, gaining exposure to a broad range of general practice work.

Your responsibilities will include:

Preparing year end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies

Management accounts and general accounts preparation

Bookkeeping and maintaining accurate financial records

Preparing VAT returns

Supporting with personal and corporation tax compliance

Dealing with general client queries

Liaising directly with clients and building strong working relationships

Assisting with other general practice duties as required

The role is predominantly accounts focused, with the opportunity to develop your wider practice knowledge over time.

2 to 3 years'+ accountancy practice experience

AAT Level 3 or Level 4, or equivalent experience

Good experience in accounts preparation

Experience with bookkeeping and VAT

Some exposure to personal and/or corporation tax

Good communication and client relationship skills

A genuine interest in developing your career within practice

£30,000 to £35,000 salary, depending on experience and qualifications

Study support available for professional qualifications

A varied client portfolio and broad exposure to general practice
